Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com  checked in with 2013 OT Jake Campos  6'7"  250   West Des Moines (IA) Valley, who has verbally committed to play football at Missouri.

Campos' Valley High team finished their 2012 season last week with a 9-3 record after bowing out in the state quarterfinals.  Campos talked about how his senior season went.

"We lost a couple of games early in the season,"  said Campos.  "And then, our O-line came together toward the end of the season.  That was the big struggle on our team.  So, we started playing really well.  We lost to the number one team in the state in the quarterfinals…………………………………….  As a team, we had a pretty good year, and I think I personally had a pretty good year."

Campos, who is the top prospect in the state of Iowa, was named First Team All-Division, and is awaiting the announcement of the all-state team.

Campos is planning to spend the next six months in the weight room, as his goal is to arrive at Missouri in June weighing over 265 pounds.   He told me that the Missouri staff expects his eventual playing weight to be at around 310 pounds.

"I'm going to try to get bigger and faster,"  said Campos.  "I want it all to be muscle."

Campos  plans to throw for Valley High's track team in the spring.  He said that he still talks to the Iowa State coaches, but that he's 100% committed to Missouri.  He said that he hasn't been talking to any other schools, and he doesn't plan to take any other visits.

"I'm one-hundred percent Mizzou right now,"  said Campos, who told me that he's been able to watch most of Missouri's games this season.

Campos is planning to take his official visit to Missouri in December.

He's also slated to play for Team USA in the IFAF International Bowl in Austin (TX) on February 5th, which is the night before National Signing Day, when participants will sign their Letters of Intent at a breakfast ceremony.

ShowMeMizzou.com will have more on Jake Campos later.
